These are great for time pass munching. They taste yummy and very easy to prepare. In Telugu we call it “Paalakaayalu”.
Here is the recipe for yummy palakayalu.
List of Ingredients:
1 cup Rice Flour
¼ cup desiccated Coconut
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 tbsp Butter
1 tsp red Chili Powder or according to taste (I didn’t add it though)
Salt to taste
A pinch of Soda
Oil to deep fry
Preparation:
Mix all the ingredients except oil with a little water and make into soft dough just like Chapathi dough.
Then make small balls out of the dough. If you
have patience and time you can make even smaller balls. Keep them ready
on a plate.
Heat
oil in a deep skillet and drop these balls one by one carefully.
Sometimes there is a chance that some of them might pop up due to air in
them. So be careful! Of course, it didn’t happen to me!
Deep-fry
them for some time until they turn golden brown. The balls will be a
little soft and a little crunchy at this stage. If you want the balls
crunchier, fry them for some more time.
They can be eaten hot or cold.
We can store them up to 10 days in an airtight container.
