Pakodas with Salt Crackers

Pakodas with Salt Crackers

This is a yummy way to consume any leftover salt crackers at home. If you’re like me who always buy items in bulk (I have to get rid of this habit) and finding a way to consume them without wasting, then this recipe is for you!! These pakodas tasted super-delicious.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup powdered Salt Crackers (I used 20 Ritz Salt Crackers)
  • 2 cups Chickpea Flour
  • ¼ cup Rice Flour
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 or 5 Green Chilies, finely chopped
  • A handful of Cilantro, finely chopped
  • A pinch of Baking Soda
  • Salt as required
  • Oil to deep-fry
Preparation:
  1. Mix all the ingredients except oil and make a thick batter by using very little water. Don’t make it too runny.
  2. Pour oil in a pan and when it becomes hot, take small batches of the batter and drop carefully into the oil.
  3. Fry till they turn golden brown in color and then remove from oil.
  4. Repeat the same process with the remaining batter.
  5. Spread on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  6. Enjoy these hot and yummy pakodas with desired dip or chutney and with a cuppa.
  7. Perfect for the winter and a rainy day!! Yummy!!

I guess pakoda and chutney are the two most experimented dishes in your kitchen. Its hard to guess what you will come up with each time.
