This is another guest post from my cousin Soujanya. I previously posted one other
yummy sweet recipe (7-cup Sweet) by her.
Here is the recipe in her words:
Ingredients:
Batter:
- 1 cup Sooji (Semolina, ఉప్మా రవ్వ)
- 1 tsp Besan (Chickpea Flour, శనగపిండి)
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice (1 tsp, more it you like it little sour)
- Baking Soda or Eno ½ tsp
- 1 Tbsp Yogurt
Seasoning:
- Oil
- Mustard seeds
- Cumin seeds
- Sesame seeds
- Finely cut green chillies
- Cut Coriander Leaves (Cilantro, కొత్తిమీర)
- Dry Coconut flakes
Preparation:
- Mix
all the ingredients with little water. The batter should have the
consistency of idli batter.
- Pour it into greased pressure cooker
container and steam it without the whistle, just like idli for 15
minutes.
- For
preparing the seasoning, take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. After
they splutter, add all the other ingredients. Keep it aside.
- After
the cooker cools down, take out the container with dhokla and run a
knife around the inside of it and overturn it on to a plate.
- Cut them
into pieces and pour the seasoning on top and enjoy!
